50 hp Mercury 2 stroke pee hole question?

Is information technology safe to remove the water restrictor at the end of the pee hole or does it serve some kind of purpose? Any help would exist appreciated.

I'chiliad not certain I was most to postal service same question cause the 06. We got seems to plug piece of cake . It seem really restricted . I know the 91 Johnson nosotros have has the rubber hose ran straight from block out it hAngs out we're pee whole would be by tour iii Inches. Information technology doesn't freeze upwards most as bad as a normal one

That plastic piece was designed to concord the hose to the lower cowl, it was not designed equally a "restrictor", that is information technology's bad side issue. In Mercury's Parts List, it is called a "Plumbing equipment". On your l hp ii stroke you might want to move that indicator from where it is on the side of the block by the thermostat, to that brass plug above the top spark plug. Remove that white elbow the hose is connected to and remove the brass plug in a higher place the top plug, bandy them. Now your indicator is after all the cooling water has flowed through the block. Okay cheers for the aid, I simply wanted to make sure I wasn't going to burn down something upwardly if I pulled that piece and slightly drilled out the hole in my cawling and but ran the hose directly through it.

I am a believer in watching where you are going, not where you lot've been. It is common down here to accept 40+ mph aluminum boats. At 40 mph, you are travelling 58.66664 feet per second, how many seconds exercise you want to await behind you?

I just put a pressure gauge on my Merc 40 3 days ago. Must admit information technology's ane of the best things I've done, although I am surprised to run into how depression pressure the system operates.

That'southward non depression. My tohatsu race engine would max out at 9 pounds at 7400 rpm. It would drop to nearly 1/ii pound at the end of a long directly. I ran iii kilo runs, with about a mile to get upward to speed before I fried the engine, running 0 water pressure. Then, that's about 6 mikles at 7500rpm with aught water force per unit area. We knew going in it was a scarificial motor.

My Merc iv stoke, four cylinder makes 27 pounds at 6249 rpm. I have run information technology for miles at 5 pounds.
