Walmart Teams With Kobo for Ebook Store, Audiobook Service
Watch out, Amazon: Walmart is getting into ebooks.
The big box retailer on Wednesday launched Walmart eBooks in partnership with Canadian ebook and ereader visitor Rakuten Kobo. Information technology offers in-store and online customers access to a library of more vi million titles on iOS, Android, and Kobo ereaders.
If audiobooks are more your thing, Walmart is also launching a monthly audiobook subscription service. For $9.99 per calendar month, subscribers get ane audiobook, which you go to keep even if you cancel after the complimentary xxx-solar day trial.

The launch comes later Walmart in January inked a deal with Rakuten to become the "exclusive mass retail partner" for Kobo ereader devices inside the U.s.a.. Walmart also plans to start offering the Kobo Aura in 1,000 of its stores starting this week.
